Fly with the Best
Audio / Produced by The High CallingTranscript
Recently, my grandkids saw an exhibition of the Blue Angels—the pinnacle of Naval aviation. What speed . . . what precision! Most amazing, my son-in-law said, were the jets’ dangerously tight formations.
Now, I am told that military pilots can fly with only three feet of lateral separation from wing to wing. The Blue Angels, however, fly with their wings overlapped—almost no margin of error at incredibly high speed. Boy, does that take practice!
This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge. Before these pilots ever flew in formation, they flew alone. But the more they worked together, the sharper their skills became, and the tighter and faster they flew. That's the teamwork we aim for . . . in the high calling of our daily work.
To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy—to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.
