God’s Greatest Gift

In C. S. Lewis’ beloved story The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, the land of Narnia is under an evil curse. It is always winter, but never Christmas. Only Aslan, the great lion who created Narnia, can break the spell.
When Aslan finally comes to Narnia, so does a jolly man with a sleigh full of presents and a heart full of joy. The children receive wonderful gifts that help them serve Aslan—a magnificent sword, a magic horn, and a healing cordial.
This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge with a Merry Christmas reminder: every gift comes from our Creator and should be used to serve Him. Jesus Christ, God’s greatest gift, makes all other gifts possible, including the high calling of our daily work.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
