No Task Too Big

My pastor, Charles Johnson, tells of a farmer named Herman who needed to relocate his barn. The only way to move the building 110 feet was to dismantle the barn and rebuild it on the new site. Herman dreaded the task.
Herman’s neighbors caught wind of his dilemma. They came to him with a dramatic idea. They would join forces to pick up the barn and physically move it. Using jacks to get the barn up off the ground, 328 men and women then picked it up and carried it to its new location.
This is Howard Butt, Jr., of Laity Lodge. No task is so big that people working together cannot get it done. This week, don’t be afraid to ask for or to offer help—in the high calling of our daily work.
Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their work:
If one falls down,
his friend can help him up.
But pity the man who falls
and has no one to help him up!
Ethics is about knowing and doing what is good or right, and workplace ethics is about knowing and doing what is good or right at work. For the Christian, this means applying the Bible and other resources of the Christian faith to help decide and do what is ethical or moral at work.
