God of Creation, you made us to love with the love You so abundantly lavished on us through our Savior, Jesus Christ. On our own we cannot see people, events, even our own vocations, as you do. We find it difficult to forgive people who hurt or fail us. When we hurt and fail others, we resist reconciliation or even forgiving ourselves through Your grace. We are sorry. Give us Your power to relinquish what we cannot control and to do what furthers Your work.
God of Renewal, remind us daily that the moments before us, the tasks to which you call us, the people you give us to love . . . all are gifts from Your Hands. Help us believe that these gifts can mold us to be more like Your beautiful image of love.
God of Peace, give us courage to abandon relationships and work that relegate our most precious relationships to the near-bottom of our daily lists. We can only answer our high calling through You. Thank you for sufficient grace and power perfected in our weakness.
Through Jesus Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit we pray. Amen.
